Focusing on civil society's role in peacebuilding, this study analyzes its effectiveness in Nakuru County, Kenya, particularly in the context of recurrent electoral violence. It emphasizes the importance of understanding conflict causes and the challenges faced by civil society groups. Despite their involvement in service delivery and advocacy, the study argues that these organizations have been largely ineffective due to misalignment with critical phases of the conflict cycle. The research advocates for stronger collaboration between state mechanisms and civil society to enhance peacebuilding efforts.

Die Studie untersucht die Rolle der Zivilgesellschaft in Kenia, insbesondere im Bezirk Nakuru, und deren Wirksamkeit in der Friedensförderung. Sie analysiert die Ursachen von Konflikten und die Herausforderungen zivilgesellschaftlicher Gruppen.
