Focusing on the role of principals as instructional leaders, this study examines primary schools in Limpopo Province's Motupa Circuit. It highlights the critical impact of effective leadership on curriculum implementation and student performance. Through qualitative methods like observations and interviews, the research explores principals' perceptions of their roles in enhancing teaching and learning. Findings indicate a gap between expected and actual involvement in monitoring and supporting educators, suggesting that principals are not fulfilling their potential in this area.

Die Untersuchung analysiert die Rolle von Schulleitern als pädagogische Führungskräfte in den Grundschulen des Motupa-Kreises, Limpopo. Sie beleuchtet, wie entscheidend die Schulleiter für die Überwachung und Unterstützung des Lehrplans sind, was sich direkt auf die Schülerleistungen auswirkt. Durch qualitative Methoden wie Beobachtungen und Interviews werden die Wahrnehmungen der Schulleiter zu ihrer Führungsrolle und deren Einfluss auf das Lehren und Lernen erfasst. Die Ergebnisse deuten darauf hin, dass die tatsächliche Unterstützung und Überwachung des Lehrplans oft unzureichend ist.
