Varieties of Europeanization in the Network Industries
Evidence from telecommunications and electricity regulation in Britain, Germany and France
The paper explores the critical issues of de- and re-regulation of network-based utilities within the context of the European single market. It highlights the ongoing discourse on better regulation spurred by the Lisbon Strategy, while addressing the lack of integration among various explanatory concepts of European integration and their impact on national economic systems. The work emphasizes the need for a comprehensive evaluation of the Lisbon Agenda's outcomes by 2010, amidst a limited understanding of the regulatory foundations of this emerging competitive economic space.
