Making Peace with Your Father is a collection of 33 sermons based on passages from the Books of Romans, 1st Corinthians and 2nd Corinthians. This book is one of 11 volumes of sermons written and preached by Al Hill over the course of his28 years as a Navy Chaplain and eight years as a civilian pastor. Many are based on Revised Common Lectionary readings, and the book contains an index to the Lectionary texts along with others that will prove helpful to the reader. The biblical text for each sermon is also provided for the reader's convenience.

The Empty God is a collection of 29 sermons and homilies from the books of Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1st Thessalonians and 1st and 2nd Timothy originally preached in Navy chapels and civilian churches by the author. The book also includes five indices to assist the reader to navigate more easily through the book and to dig deeper into the scriptures throughout the Bible that form the authoritative basis for the sermons. "In the Presence of the Lord" is a collection of more than two dozen sermons based on passages from the Book of Psalms and 10 of the prophetic books from Isaiah to Malachi. The book includes full texts of the passages addressed and four indices to assist the reader interested in further study.

"O Come, Let God Adore Us" is a collection of three dozen sermons preached in Navy chapels and civilian churches during the Advent and Christmas seasons. In each sermon, familiar parts of the Christmas story are held up, reverently, to the light of imagination to find new facets of revelation, inspiration and understanding of what God was doing, and continues to do, in sending His Messiah into our sinful and broken world. The sermons are organized according to the Revised Common Lectionary readings for Advent, Christmas and Epiphany, and include four useful indices to assist others who preach or study God's word.

THINGS THAT KINGS CAN'T DO is a collection of two dozen sermons drawn from the early days of Israel as a people living (often problematically) in the land their God had promised and provided them. There are sermons from the early days of Israel becoming a nation-state, with the individuals and families who were key in God’s ongoing plan for His people. And there are sermons from Israel’s long tradition of reflecting on what it meant to be God’s special people.The book provides all the texts for the sermons, and contains a number of valuable indices identifying Revised Common Lectionary readings, and listing extensive biblical references in biblical order.
