Sybil Bergman Knihy

This is Sybil Bergman's first published book, although her work is known locally. She rummages round in original places for material. She does not avoid the sing song rhythms of rhyme, but employs it as a jumping off place into human wilderness. Her entire life is grist for the mill. While not composing, Mrs. B. tends a splendid garden on the Connecticut estuary. If she is not weaving, she is combing and carding the curly wool from three Australian sheep. The author has put together an exhuberant collection of poems for her grandchildren, although some of them will float over their heads. If the poems make you laugh or cry, take a chance. Buy the book.
