Die Könige ist der zweite Band der fünfteiligen Entscheidungsserie. Er umfasst die Zeitspanne von der Regentschaft Salomos (960 v. Chr.) bis zur Königin Esther (420 v. Chr.). In jenen 550 Jahren erleben wir den allmählichen aber steten geistlichen Abfall Israels, der nur durch die Reformwilligkeit einiger gottesfürchtiger Könige wie Josaphat, Hiskia oder Josia, aber auch durch Propheten Gottes zeitweise aufgehalten wurde. Dieser Abfall führte zuerst zur Reichsteilung und später in die assyrische bzw. babylonische Gefangenschaft. Nach der Gefangenschaft erfolgten unter der Leitung Esras und Nehemias der Aufbau Jerusalems und dessen Tempel. – Jener Tempel, den Jesus bei Seinem Kommen zweimal reinigen musste, über den Er weinte und der 70 n. Chr. endgültig zerstört wurde.

Die Apostel ist das vierte Teil der Entscheidungsserie. Es umfasst die Zeit der frühen Apostelgemeinde ab dem Jahr 31 n. Chr. bis ins Jahr 90 n. Chr., als der Prophet Johannes die Offenbarung Jesu Christi niederschrieb. Die Glieder der Urgemeinde hatten nur ein Ziel: Menschen zu Christus zu führen, um dadurch die Wiederkunft Christi zu beschleunigen. Wie in keinem anderen Werk werden hier die gottgegebenen Grundsätze wiederholt aufgezeigt, die sich wie ein roter Faden durch die verschiedenen Lebenssituationen der Apostel ziehen. Immer, wenn diese Grundsätze vernachlässigt, verwässert, vermischt, oder gar völlig über Bord geworfen werden, existiert das Geheimnis der Bosheit in Form von Liberalismus und Formenwesen, oder noch schlimmer, in der Gestalt des Menschen der Sünde.
