Vesmírný dobrodruh, pozemšťan Paddy Blackthorn, se snaží ukrást pro Zemi tajemství kosmického pohonu, jenže se mu při tom neplánovaně podaří ten největší zločin v obydleném vesmíru, způsobí totiž smrt pěti Synů Langtry.
