A mysterious amnesiac is discovered at a distant spaceport. The science of the Alastor Cluster can only ascertain his home planet and culture: he is a Rhune from Marune - Alastor 933. Upon returning home, he finds that he is a powerful landowner whose household is embroiled in a crucial alliance. However, he must uncover which of the scheming nobles is responsible for the destruction of his memory.
