Tom Richmond Knihy

Tom Richmond is a retired History instructor and Vietnam Veteran and pilot. He holds a Master of Arts Degree in History Education from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. Other publications include Panama, The Well of Gold, The Winnower, and Five beneath Philly. Also he is currently working on his sixth historical fiction novel titled, Bay Roses (a story of love/revenge set in Southeast Asia, Tampa, Florida, and Panama. For most of his life he has resided in Florida, though he travels frequently. He has travelled throughout the fifty states, Puerto Rico, Canada, Mexico, and many countries throughout the Caribbean basin. The story follows Frank Barrett, who falls deeply in love with Ramsay Davis after meeting her in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. Their whirlwind romance leads to marriage, but Frank's commitment is tested when he is called to serve as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force in December 1970, forcing him to leave Ramsay behind. The narrative explores themes of love, duty, and sacrifice against the backdrop of military life.

The narrative centers on the life of a Bow Street Runner, exploring the intriguing world of early detective work. Published in 1827, it presents a blend of biography and fiction, raising questions about the true identity of Richmond and the author behind the text. As the first English story featuring a professional detective, it offers a fascinating glimpse into the origins of crime-solving in literature, setting the stage for future detective stories.
