Pri pátraní mu účinne pomáha svojrázny arabský prisťahovalec Asad, ktorého prítomnosť v príbehu je zdrojom multikultúrneho napätia i mnohých humorných situácií. Čím hlbšie Carl Morck preniká do prípadu, tým väčšie nezrovnalosti nachádza. Naozaj je možné, že tá žena ešte žije, že ju niekto väzní a týra na neznámom mieste?
