Diese Auswahl von Victor Langes Aufsätzen ist in drei Gruppen gegliedert. Die erste wird mit einer Art intellektuellen Autobiographie eröffnet und präsentiert methodische Überlegungen und Beiträge. Das Stichwort von der illyrischen Exilexistenz wurde nicht ohne Grund, wie die «Illyrischen Betrachtungen» näher erläutern, als Titel für den ganzen Band gewählt.
