This reference book describes the many groups and organizations in Germany that are involved in youth work. Its purpose is to facilitate the development of international contacts and to contribute to the international education of German youth. Youth work in Germany is briefly described in the book's introduction. The annotated listing is organized around the following categories: youth councils; youth organizations; organizations and institutions concerned with extracurricular cultural education of the young; international youth work, international youth meetings, and youth travel services; youth community services and organizations engaged in development aid and policy; youth service organizations and institutions in general; and statutory institutions concerned with youth policy and youth services. Information provided for each group includes the name of the group in English and in German; address and telephone number; background information; and a description of services, publications, and names of partners abroad.
