The architecture of the Georgian church at İşhan

The Church at Ishan is one of the most important monuments of the Middle Ages in Tao-Klardjetie, in Northeastern Turkey. The present study gives a thorough description of the Church and tries to date it. A comparative study of the other Armenian, Georgian, Byzantine and Syrian Churches of the Middle Ages were made in order to specify the leading role of the church at Ishan in Georgian architecture.
