Pages Paysages, a renowned French journal, will now be published for the first time in a parallel English edition by Birkhäuser. Each volume is devoted to a particular theme in contemporary landscape architecture, interpreted using a wide selection of international examples. Diachronicles is the 8th volume in this series and examines the effect of time on a landscape. It takes a look at how locations are slowly transformed by natural growth or changes in weather. These changes occur at a much more leisurely pace, frequently determined by chance, and man is often powerless to intervene. Even in urban landscapes, we can rediscover this natural wild element.
