Contributions on the theory of fishing gears and related marine systems

Viac o knihe

The proceedings of the 10th international workshop on methods for the development and evaluation of maritime technologies reflect the ongoing progress achieved by the DEMaT community, comprising primarily European and Asian scientists in fishing engineering and fishery research over the past 18 years. This workshop stands out for successfully fostering scientific exchange among participants despite limited financial resources, while also integrating students into this international network of engineers and scientists. The workshops have significantly enhanced participants' scientific inspiration, strengthened professional relationships, and contributed to advancements in fishing engineering, aquaculture, and fishing systems theory. For fishing engineers today, tools like mathematical modeling, numerical analysis, and model experiments are essential for analyzing and developing fishing gear, with FEM analyses and CFD simulations becoming commonplace. Moreover, the DEMaT workshops have heightened awareness of sustainable fishing practices, particularly in discussions about the interaction between fishing gear and the environment. However, theoretical insights must be validated through practical application, ensuring that the reader can anticipate a compelling and intellectually rigorous exploration of these themes.
