Thermal model predictive control for demand side management cooling strategies

This dissertation presents the development, design, and analysis of a control scheme known as Thermal Model Predictive Control for Demand Side Management Cooling Strategies. The control is implemented in a building in Athens, with its thermal model derived using the Finite Difference Calculation Method. The thermal model's development and testing are conducted online, while the predictive controller for cooling strategies is evaluated through simulation results. The advantages of this scheme include the predictive controller's ability to advise users on energy and cost savings during peak demand, ensuring thermal comfort is maintained. This report aims to advance the theory and implementation of Predictive Control for Demand Side Management Cooling Strategies.
