Viac o knihe

From Tur Abdin to Hadramawt is a festschrift honoring Professor Bo Isaksson of Uppsala University on his retirement. This volume features articles that explore various aspects of research in Semitic languages, particularly those areas of interest to Professor Isaksson, including morpho-syntactical issues, Modern Colloquial Arabic, and Neo-Aramaic. Contributions include Eran Cohen's study on presentatives in Biblical Hebrew and Neo-Aramaic, and Lutz Edzard's examination of epexegetical genitive in Quranic Sura-titles. Helene Kammensjö discusses pace and circumstance in oral Arabic narration, while Geoffrey Khan addresses infinitives and verbal nouns in Neo-Aramaic (Urmi). Ablahad Lahdo focuses on the Neo-Aramaic dialect of Bequsyone, and Torkel Lindquist analyzes circumstantial qualifiers in Modern Standard Arabic and Modern Hebrew. Stig Norin investigates Biblical Hebrew from the 2nd century A.D., and Sina Tezel explores the comparative method in Modern Colloquial Arabic. Other contributions include studies on the Arabic dialect of Lydda by Werner Arnold, vocalization and case endings in Judeo-Yemenite by Tal Davidovich, and discourse hierarchy markers in Syrian Modern Colloquial Arabic by Maria Persson. Additionally, articles cover plural pronouns in Modern Colloquial Arabic, the Mesopotamian-Levantine dialect continuum, quadriradical verbal formations, and eco-aspects in Modern Arabic literature.
