Debora Fede, born in Rome in 1965, earned her Arts degree from the Liceo Artistico and studied Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. At 19, she won the National “Acquario D‘oro“ Prize, followed by the “Una vita per l‘arte“ Prize from the City of Rome in 1987. Since then, she has showcased her work in numerous exhibitions across Italy, Turkey, Spain, Germany, the USA, and Cuba, receiving acclaim from critics such as A. Pace and I. Baldini. Fede has taught art in high schools since 1987 in various countries, including Italy and Turkey, and currently teaches in Florence. While she has explored various artistic forms, including watercolor and collage, her preference lies with oil on canvas. Fede views aesthetic experience as a means to understand the world, engaging in a contemporary pictorial investigation that analyzes human emotions and sensations through abstract portraiture. Her paintings are rooted in two fundamental elements: color and movement. For her, color embodies life force, while black and white add realism. Movement reflects her quest for sensations, conveying feelings and sharing her experiences while also facilitating self-discovery through the creative process.
