The queer intersectional in contemporary Germany

Viac o knihe

Anti-racist and queer politics have begun to converge within the radical left's activist agendas and organizing strategies globally. Often dismissed as "identity politics," the importance of this intersection remains underexplored. In western Europe, coalitions of anti-racist and queer activism have created resilient organizations and innovative interventions to address the prevalent anti-Muslim and anti-migrant racism within mainstream gay and lesbian culture, which often benefits from selective inclusivity in national and international frameworks. This collection features essays from writers engaged at this intersection of anti-racist and queer scholarship, specifically within the German context. For the first time translated into English, these four authors offer a compelling introduction to what is described as "a Berlin chapter of the Queer Intersectional." This movement blends academic analysis with political discourse, drawing inspiration from and seeking to unify anti-racist, queer, feminist, and anti-capitalist traditions and theories. Contributions include works from Judith Butler, Zülfukar Çetin, Sabine Hark, Daniel Hendrickson, Heinz-Jürgen Voß, Salih Alexander Wolter, and Koray Yılmaz-Günay.
