Focusing on the philosophical exploration of post-Islamism, this book utilizes John Rawls' political liberalism to analyze Iranian intellectuals' projects from a normative standpoint. It distinguishes itself by assessing the strengths and weaknesses of various thinkers' arguments rather than their historical contexts. Each chapter proposes a conjectural argument for a potential overlapping consensus between Islam and political liberalism, drawing on diverse Islamic, particularly Shia, resources, with modernist theological perspectives from figures like Shabestari and Soroush.
