It analyzes how their texts—ranging from Mary Sidney Herbert's Psalmes to Elizabeth Clinton's maternal nursing pamphlet, Margaret Hoby's diary, and Mary Sidney Wroth's prose romance—reflect and influence domestic and political discourses. The book provides insights into the cultural significance of food practices and their implications for women's roles in society during this period.
