Exploring the ancient Indian text of Kautilya's Arthasastra, this book addresses the challenge of 'presentism' that distorts its interpretation through modern Western theories. It contrasts the text's historical context with the evolution of Eurocentric International Relations (IR) to uncover its unique assumptions and unconventional traits. By doing so, the author proposes a Kautilyan non-Western eclectic theory of IR, integrating various research traditions while offering innovative insights that aim to enhance both Indian and Global IR perspectives.
