Viac o knihe

Roman law has significantly influenced both the Civil law tradition and Common law countries. The legal institutions and reasoning compiled in the Corpus iuris civilis have been central to legal studies in Western Europe for nearly a millennium and continue to be a reference point. This tradition was also adopted by Japanese law during the Meiji era. Roman law provides not only historical insights into the foundations of modern legal thought but also serves as a valuable tool for understanding and analyzing contemporary legal issues. An international seminar held at the University of Kyushu in February 2016 aimed to demonstrate the relevance of Roman law for today’s legal practitioners by examining selected legal challenges. The enduring significance of Roman law is evident as it addresses the complexities faced in modern jurisprudence.
