Migration and migration policy are pressing issues in both the US and Europe. This volume features distinguished authors from various European academic institutions, focusing on the critical importance of migration policy and the refugee crisis facing EU member states and beyond. The contributors examine the significant effects of migration from Third World countries on the EU, providing a critical overview of the politicization, securitization, and social discourse surrounding migration. They analyze the impacts on public administration and governance, as well as the rise of the radical right, populism, and citizen alienation from formal politics, which are driven by increasing concerns about security and public safety.
