Focusing on a child's self-directed multilingual and multiliterate development from birth to age 8, this book highlights the importance of child agency in language socialization. It shifts the perspective from solely parental influence to the active role children play in their own learning processes. The findings aim to redefine and broaden the traditional theoretical framework of family language policy, offering new insights into how children navigate and acquire multiple languages and literacies.
