This is the story of a ten-year-old boy and his father in the 1950s in Malibu – two writers, one budding and the other struggling between writing a cookbook and a play to make ends meet. Together, they cook with little more than the unforgettable Writer's Rice, race on the beach, share stories, and dream to the sound of the phonograph; one aspires to be the first to walk on the Moon, while the other lives solely to write. Their tale, rich with stories, is fundamentally about transmission, where the father, the famous Papa, always finds the most beautiful answers to life's questions and shares them with his son, exploring the meaning of life, the joy of being in the world, and above all, the passion for writing.
