Thermal monitoring of power transformers

In this thesis a new model-based thermal monitoring system for transformers is proposed including the development of new thermal models, the development of new algorithms for online monitoring of the cooling system as well as the development of methods for online determination of the loading capability of transformers. The performance of the proposed system has been successfully validated through field tests. The developed concept can be easily integrated into the commercially available monitoring systems.
