Viac o knihe
The novel "Berlin" is part of a trilogy about the Eastern Front during World War II. This volume depicts the downfall of the 6th Army in the Battle of Stalingrad, illustrating the suffering of frontline soldiers, the wounded, and the detached lives of officers and Generalfeldmarschall Friedrich Paulus. It unflinchingly portrays the consequences of the unconditional orders "No surrender!" and "Stay where you are!" making it an anti-war novel. The narrative presents the collapse from the perspective of the German 6th Army, with only occasional references to the conditions on the Soviet side. The work has been praised by notable critics, who recognized its significant contribution to post-war German literature.
