This guide provides seven stages of detailed route description covering 127.5km (79 miles) across the magnificent Isle of Skye, from the stunning headland of Rubha Hunish to the island's picturesque capital, Portree, ending at the large village of Broadford. Skye has the power to ignite a special bond with those who come here. Its captivating landscapes of majestic mountains and stunning coastline, as well as its romantic history and local Gaelic culture, call upon visitors to return time and time again. This is a challenging route that takes a week for experienced backpackers, and walkers need to be self-reliant, fit and possess good navigation skills in order to get the best out of the journey.
