Competition Policy Enforcement in EU Member States

Focusing on the enforcement of EU competition policy, the book examines the delegation of policymaking to autonomous agencies and their accountability issues. It analyzes data from 27 EU countries over 17 years, questioning whether agency independence leads to better enforcement outcomes. The findings suggest that while autonomy is often granted to countries with credibility issues, it does not necessarily correlate with improved regulatory performance. This work is particularly relevant for advanced students and researchers in competition policy and European public policy.
