The Common European Framework outlines a series of targets to be reached at different stages through the language learning experience. As the CEF levels A1 - C2 have now become a benchmark for students' progress, there is a need for assessments which tie in with CEF targets. Teachers can then assess their students' progress against the CEF levels.
