Focusing on the interplay of memory and identity, this work examines how African-Caribbean and Jewish communities recall their histories through various autobiographical formats. It explores key themes such as migration memories, mythologies of the Mother Country and Promised Land, and the re-interpretation of early twentieth-century racist riots in Britain. By comparing these two historically parallel communities, the study offers fresh insights into collective memory and personal identity, enriching the understanding of ethnicity and diaspora in contemporary historical research.
