Focusing on the aftermath of anti-immigrant violence in Johannesburg, this work delves into the complexities of black intraracial relationships in post-apartheid South Africa. Through ethnographic research, the author, Hashi Kenneth Tafira, explores xenophobia as a manifestation of black-on-black racism, rooted in a legacy of colonial dehumanization. By examining stereotypes, gender dynamics, and economic competition, Tafira sheds light on the evolving nature of racism in contemporary society, making a significant contribution to understanding racial identities and relationships.
