Focusing on the political dynamics of inclusive development, this book analyzes four case studies—Mexico, Indonesia, Chile, and South Korea—to explore the challenges faced by Global South countries amidst economic globalization. It critiques existing policies for overlooking the importance of state capacity, productive employment, and rural development, while emphasizing that addressing power and political issues is crucial. The author argues that achieving inclusive development hinges on forming a coalition led by committed leaders with broad societal support, particularly from the middle classes.
