The book analyzes the effectiveness of four major non-state actors in the Arab-Israeli conflict: the PLO, Hamas, Hizbullah, and Amal. It emphasizes that the means by which these groups acquire resources, rather than the resources themselves, significantly influence their military resistance and political recovery capabilities. The study introduces a typology based on their domestic and foreign strategies, offering insights applicable to other non-state entities like ISIS. Grounded in extensive field research across several Middle Eastern countries, it includes interviews with various stakeholders.
