Focusing on the often-overlooked role of superintendents, this study offers an ethnographic exploration of their daily lives in lower Harlem, New York City. Through extensive fieldwork, it examines how these individuals shape relationships and networks within their neighborhoods, filling a significant gap in social science research. The analysis highlights the complexities and impacts of their work, shedding light on a crucial yet underrepresented aspect of community dynamics.
