Focusing on the co-morbidity of post-traumatic stress disorder and adolescent substance abuse, this study employs surveys and statistical analyses from a Southern California population. It integrates cognitive-behavioral psychology, family systems theory, and developmental theory to frame its research. Utilizing a causal comparative design, the analysis aims to uncover the relationships between independent and dependent variables, providing insights into how these mental health issues intersect in adolescents.
