The book explores the complex dynamics between African Americans and American Jews, focusing on intergenerational Jewish perceptions of race and white privilege. Utilizing qualitative research, it analyzes how Jewish Americans, primarily of Ashkenazi background, understand their relationships with African Americans amid historical tensions. The study is grounded in a taxonomy of intergroup conflict theory, incorporating various perspectives such as Realistic-Group Conflict Theory and Social Identity Theory. Participants include a diverse group of sixteen Jewish Americans, reflecting a range of ages and religious affiliations.
