The transformation of the Lower Guruve Development Association in Zimbabwe illustrates the impact of a rural-based NGO in a region facing significant challenges such as economic instability and health crises. Established in 1982, the Association supports local farmers through commercial ventures and essential programs in education, nutrition, and health. Over 25 years, it expanded from 5 to over 90 employees, many with limited formal education. The study highlights the job competencies required for members to advance sustainable agricultural projects, emphasizing the influence of perception, work situations, and organizational culture.
