The research explores the link between metacognitive awareness and listening performance among Iranian male students learning English as a foreign language. Utilizing the Metacognitive Awareness Listing Questionnaire (MALQ) and final exam results, the study found a weak positive correlation between metacognitive awareness and listening performance, with stronger connections noted in problem-solving, directed attention, and planning evaluation.
