Relationship between Total Quality Management and School Improvement

Focusing on systemic transformation in South African schools, this work explores the application of a Total Quality Management (TQM) framework to address dysfunctionality and enhance school improvement. Drawing on a survey from the Tshwane North district, it presents a customized TQM model that aligns with local conditions. The research emphasizes TQM's potential to foster democratic values like participation and accountability, while also aiming for improved educational outcomes. However, it acknowledges that TQM is one of many strategic management approaches for continuous improvement.
