Focusing on the ecological significance of wetlands, this thesis explores their role as transitional zones between land and water. It emphasizes the importance of hydrology, the physiochemical environment, and biota in defining wetland ecosystems. The research highlights how wetlands function as sources, sinks, and transformers of chemicals, contributing to ecological balance. Supervised by esteemed professors at the University of Baghdad, this work aims to fulfill the requirements for a Ph.D. in Ecology, specifically addressing ecological pollution.
