Exploring the philosophical themes of identity and otherness, this essay examines the works of Iberian writers and philosophers Miguel de Unamuno and Antonio Machado, both prominent figures of the 1898 Hispanic generation. Unamuno, a rector at Salamanca University, and Machado, a professor, made significant contributions to literature and philosophy during the early 20th century. Their distinctive perspectives and historical impact are analyzed, highlighting their relevance in the context of their time and their enduring influence on contemporary thought.
