Regional organizations exhibit varying degrees of both, often demonstrating commitment when national interests are involved. Their growing determination to engage in peacekeeping reflects an understanding of the link between regional stability and economic growth. However, a significant gap remains between their political intentions and operational capabilities. Addressing this gap through a U.S. strategy that acknowledges the role of regional organizations could enhance their contributions to international peace efforts.
