Ethnicity and Urban Life in China

Focusing on the Hui Muslims in contemporary China, this work combines qualitative and quantitative data from fieldwork conducted in Lanzhou between 2001 and 2004. It provides a significant sociological analysis of ethnicity in Asia, shedding light on the unique cultural and social dynamics of the Hui community. Through in-depth research, it explores the complexities of identity, integration, and the challenges faced by this ethnic group within the broader Chinese society.
