The book explores the relationship between production inputs and energy demand across 30 industrial sectors in South Korea and Japan, focusing on the years 1980-2009 for South Korea and 1973-2006 for Japan. It highlights the role of ICT investment in shaping energy demand characteristics for both consumers and producers. A dynamic factor demand model is introduced, which incorporates adjustment costs linked to lost output from ongoing production, providing a comprehensive analysis of energy demand dynamics in these economies.
