The paper explores the transformation of Ukrainian women's identities following the country's independence and the dissolution of the Soviet Union. It examines how the Soviet ideal of the "super-woman" was replaced by new standards influenced by nationalism, patriarchy, and the revival of traditional values. The reconstruction of gender roles is analyzed through the lens of education, media, and political discourse, highlighting the shift from the Mother-Protector archetype to Western models of femininity amidst economic crisis and social instability.
