Focusing on the evolution of environmental politics in Egypt, the book analyzes how networks function within an authoritarian context. Through extensive fieldwork, including over 200 interviews with various stakeholders, the author investigates three key policy areas: industrial pollution control, the preservation of protected areas, and the management of water resources. This research enhances the understanding of public policy-making and social protest in Egypt and the broader Arab world, highlighting the interplay between environmental concerns and authoritarian governance.
