Focusing on the interconnected roles of barbers-surgeons and various artisans such as jewellers, tailors, and wigmakers, this study explores the sociocultural ties that linked these trades during the Early Modern period. It challenges conventional distinctions between medical and non-medical occupations, revealing a complex web of relationships that influenced perceptions of body care and appearance in that era.
