Set in a midtown Manhattan office building, the story follows engineer Arthur Chamberlain as he realizes the sun is moving backward and the structure is slipping into the past due to a geological fault. Chamberlain devises a plan to reverse the building's time-travel while managing the survival needs of its occupants. He persuades the bank's head to support his efforts, leading to organized hunting and fishing expeditions. After two weeks of preparation, Chamberlain successfully executes his strategy, returning the skyscraper to its original time.
